twelve months of "i'll design it first"

this site took me a year to start. not to build — to start.

i kept telling myself i needed the perfect design first. the right vibe, the right type, the concept that would make people go "who is this guy." i collected inspiration. i opened figma. i closed figma. i deferred, and deferred, because starting meant risking that it wouldn't be impressive.

then it clicked: the design was never the blocker. the fear of an unimpressive first version was. so i flipped the rule — build first, polish later, just get the thing to exist.

it exists now. you're reading it. is it perfect? no. but "shipped and imperfect" beats "perfect and imaginary" every single time, and it's not close.

if you're deferring something for the same reason — you're not waiting for it to be ready. you're waiting to not be scared. those are different waits, and only one of them ends.
